Jon Sonbuchner's Bio
I completed a BS degree from Bemidji State University in 1987, with a double major in Math Education and Computer Science.
The following year I was hired at WCA to teach computers and math, and work with the Ranger program, and I have been doing that for the last 28 years! Ironically my first two years I head coached the flag football team.
Needless to say our technology has changed during that time. We started out using the PCjr, 64K or RAM and and 5.25 floppy disk for storage. We now are on a 3 year rotation with our technology, which means that every year we get some of the most current computers and no computer is more than three years old.
In 2012 I took over as the IT department head, and that position has expanded as well. We are excited to begin a new chapter where we have begun to develop a 1-1 program so that from 1st grade to 12th we incorporate technology to enhance our student's learning.
