What is Rangers?

Rangers is a Christian High Adventure Outdoor program that has gone on expeditions all over the United States. Rangers takes regular high school students and turns them into proficient hikers who have the knowledge and skills to complete the Appalachian Trail (which is over 2,100 miles long), climb some of the tallest mountains in North America, and tackle many other outdoor adventures.

Through the Westminster Christian Academy Rangers, God has chosen to reveal Himself in two ways: through His creation and through His written Word the Bible. Rangers implements the skills and challenges of outdoor adventure and back country travel as a tool to unify those two aspects of His revelation, in a way that must be experienced to be appreciated. Each Ranger comes face to face with the majesty of God's creation on a monthly basis, as he/she treks through forests and over mountains, paddles white water and rides the ocean waves. The awe that is inspired by these shared experiences is immediately channeled into a greater depth of understanding by the preaching of God's Word through regular devotions and Sunday services.

The Ranger program has over a 20 year history of bringing Rangers closer to their Creator, through the appreciation of His wonderous works, and the life lessons that they have learned. One of the greatest of these life lessons is dealing with the adversity associated with the challenge, of a true wilderness experience. Teamwork is emphasized since each Ranger is a member of a fire team where everyone is expected to make a positive contribution. Rangers very quickly learn that planning and preparation are paramount because what they bring sometimes is the difference between elation and agony. Many students leave Westminster with the Ranger experience listed as the best part of their high school career. Come see for yourself how this outdoor program can help shape your life. "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control against such things there is no law." Galatians 5:22-23 NIV
