I'm doing Thompson on the phone for principle of the ugliest campus at Westminster Christian Academy and I will share with you today some how to interpret your child's terranova results terranova is the test the Wii used and it's produced by CTB McGraw-Hill I've been chosen to do this I suppose for a couple reasons one how many Christian School administration of 40 years and two I have almost a doctor vegetational leadership so having worked with achievement test for those for years of service dog time helping parents understand the first thing I asked you to do is get out your child's terranova result is a blue sheep and there should be a Green Sheet get those two out and get a highlighter maybe cuz they're a couple of things I want to tell you that I lied the first thing I would do is turn to the back sheet  on the front sheet it says individual profile report and then in the wisest performer check which channel the backside and it says norm-referenced scores so I need to explain three kinds of scores to you the first is a norm-referenced score this is in comparison to other students who take the test and this gives you a percentile score the percentage for we're not saying when you trying to 1780 cuz he only scored 70% know this is your truck better than 70% of the people took the task and not as well as 30% who did  Total percentile score never to be interpreted like a percent is not an ABCD  awesome looking at a channels results in an honest and good results and I see something I'm concerned about but here's what I want you to do the other two the second kind of scroll want to talk to you man it's called to say nothing and I say nothing it's just manship between 1 and 9  and it's just another way of interpreting the same results so one is the lowest of the scores you can make the hottest and that just gives a quick reference to say when was good father my child support if I that's right in the middle he's average on that the score tonight in the top out the score of the one wishing to be concerned so on the back page norm-referenced scores please got the column that said National percentile and stanine and that's the time that I want you to look at it this time who is Gives You Channel your child's National percentile and stanine and that's what we're going to look at so I'm looking at a child's what's here probably not the one you're going to say but I see it 87% I'm in volcano that tells me that child did better than 80 percent of people took the test in less than 12 or 13 percentage I'm right next to the 87 this is something that tells me that that same score can be a seventh stanine  so from 1 to 9 it's a southern that's a good score that's a good sign score if I'm looking at other the same kind of language is used on all of the same kind of interpretation here's the 60th percentile in Social Chinese that's not a wonderful score , but yeah it's it's not a bad score either 60th percentile says Charlie better than 60% people took the social studies test and not as well as 40% and it's her staying on in this case is which is better than average for sure the average is 50th percentile nationally and Steiner  so
