"Fun in the Sun" is Opelousas Preschool's annual end of the year event. This event has been around for over 25 years. Mrs. Torge remembered Fun in the Sun as a student in Mrs. Mills class and is now enjoying Fun in the Sun with her own students as a teacher of K3. Mrs. Torge said, "It is such a privilege to 'relive' one of the best days in preschool history with my students...but from the perspective of the teacher. As a student and as a teacher, at the end of the day you are exhausted, but it's because you know it was the best day ever!" The day consisted of water games, sprinklers, fun jumps, bubbles, and homemade ice cream.

Also listed in Parents and Campus LifeOpelousas Preschool - Over 12 years ago a parent decided to bring her animals to school on a day that the children were supposed to go to the zoo but due to the weather, they could not go. Mrs. Leger was asked to bring hot dogs for the field trip to school that day but asked if she could bring her animals instead and that is how Zoo Day began at WCA. Every year they add additional animals to the petting zoo and the students LOVE it! Mrs. Leger and her daughter Faith Leger, Senior Class of 2017, brought their goats from home for the students to enjoy.
Uploaded Apr 28, 2017Opelousas Preschool enjoyed Pajama Day as they dressed in their favorite pajamas. Each class participated by drinking hot chocolate, making snowmen out of marshmallows & pretzel sticks, watching movies and snowball fights. The students will take a journey for the next couple of weeks to learn about animals that hibernate during the winter months. The journey ends on Friday, February 3rd for the annual Hibernation Celebration. "For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater" Isaiah 55:10
