Effectively leading a student body and a full staff of teachers is no small feat - which is why we have hand-picked four outstanding principals for our campuses with strong backgrounds in educational leadership and an unwavering faith in Christ to guide Westminster into the future. Our mission is to assist parents in educating their children by imparting God's truth to transform society in present and future generations. To accomplish this with every student, every day, our principals are involved in campus activities and are dedicated to advancing our school, teachers and students academically, professionally and spiritually.
Lafayette Elementary Principal - Susan Keller
Mrs. Susan Keller developed a love for teaching in her earliest years, playing school with her dolls and coercing her brothers to be her students. She later went on to graduate from the University of Mississippi with a degree in early childhood education. Upon graduation, her career took a turn and she entered the insurance industry, earned her CPCU designation, and became a licensed agent in New Orleans, where she managed an independent insurance agency for 15 years. Her career with WCA began in 2000 when a job transfer brought her husband and family to Lafayette. During her 14 years as a fourth grade teacher at WCA, she earned 250+ hours of professional development hours in math, science, Bible and computer science, a track of development that still continues today.
While serving as Principal, Mrs. Keller is currently earning her masters degree in Discipleship from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Her passion for discipling others has put her on the road on numerous mission trips. She is currently serving as a leader in the adult, children and youth education programs of her church, a journey which is entering its 20th year.
Opelousas Preschool Director - Sonya Galloway
Mrs. Sonya Galloway began her Westminster Christian Academy career as a K5 teacher. After spending three years in the classroom, in 2016 she transitioned to the role of Preschool Director. When it comes to her students, she is most passionate about lifting little faces to behold Jesus. When it comes to the parents she serves, it is her heart’s desire that the preschool acts as a resource to assist them in their primary role of discipleship – helping parents teach their little ones to trust and obey the parents they CAN see, so that one day they will CHOOSE to trust and obey the Father they can’t see. And when it comes to her teachers, Mrs. Galloway aims to foster an environment filled with joy, love, compassion, grace, and peace.
