It is a wonderful time of year for giving and Westminster is pleased to announce a $1,000 to FoodNet of Acadiana and $1,000 to ICONs Food Bank in Opelousas from proceeds raised through Feed the Need. With meals going to hungry children in Liberia and Haiti, WCA wanted to be sure to impact the needs of hungry families right here in our hometowns. Julie Lafleur, the Executive Director of FoodNet was excited to report a very successful food drive recently. She said the extra funds will be helpful after the holiday season when their protein food items run low. Mrs. LaFleur said that the donation would likely be used to purchase a pallet of tuna or other protein food item. Ms. Connie Reed with ICONs Food Bank in Opelousas said much the same. As food supplies run low, they will use this donation to replenish the shelves for people in need. Your efforts during Feed the Need continue to have a positive impact around the world and at home.
