“We have known about Mrs. Nezat’s transition since the end of 2019, and are blessed to have the opportunity to cross-train Mrs. Hopkins over the course of several weeks,” commented Mr. Davis.
After earning her bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, she attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary for over a year before transitioning to the workplace. Mrs. Hopkins gained 10 years of experience in marketing, event planning, and communications in a wide variety of industries. Her passion for telling a compelling story and her love of Christ led Mrs. Hopkins to WCA where her passions and experience will combine to advance the mission and values of the institution.
“I’m excited that God has called me to use what I’ve learned in a corporate environment in a Christian setting where I can be a part of a bigger ministry,” commented Mrs. Hopkins. “I’ve already been welcomed so warmly. It’s refreshing to be in a place where people enjoy their jobs and are happy to be here. I can’t wait to promote the work of so many faithful teachers and staff who genuinely love the children and families we serve.”
When asked about the transition, Head of School Mr. Scott Davis remarked, “We all appreciate the decade of faithful service that Mrs. Nezat has provided to the Advancement Office and look forward to now working with her family in a different capacity in the years to come as her daughters complete their education at WCA. In bringing Mrs. Hopkins to us, the Lord has been extremely gracious. To have a person with the type of high-level experience that Mrs. Hopkins has is indeed a blessing. I look forward to her taking the reins of the Office of Institutional Advancement and picking up where Mrs. Nezat left off to help guide us to a bright future.”
