New Varsity Volleyball Coach Named

In commenting on the addition of Coach Leon, Coach Turnage said, "We are excited that Coach Keith Leon has decided to join the WCA Family as our new Head Volleyball Coach. Coach Leon will be assisted by his wife Tonya. I am excited about their knowledge, leadership, and family atmosphere that they will bring to Westminster Christian Academy. They are some of the most respected coaches by players, parents, and peers within the club volleyball community. We are truly blessed to have them."

Coach Leon is a motivator and offers the ability to lead his athletes to find confidence and discover their talents. His passion is to make each player feel like part of a team and become leaders in their spheres of influence. Coach Leon is dedicated to creating a positive and competitive environment while staying true to the ultimate goals of developing responsibility, integrity, and perseverance in his players – qualities that line up with what WCA Athletics is all about.

Coach Leon grew up in Bayou Vista, LA graduating from Patterson High School. He then went on to graduate from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a Bachelor of Science from the College of Education. He currently lives in Cankton with his wife, Tonya.

Coach Leon’s professional experience includes 16 years as an Athletic Director. He has also served as Facility Supervisor, Head of Discipline, Physical Education teacher, and 10 years as the League Director for basketball, baseball, and softball for elementary and middle school private league.

Coach Leon coached Carencro Catholic Volleyball for over 20 years and has 8 years of experience coaching Acadian Juniors Club Volleyball. Most recently he invested in the volleyball program of Beau Chene High School last year. He has certifications in Indoor Impact, Beach Impact, and Safesport.

In speaking of coming to Westminster Christian Academy, Coach Leon said, “Tonya and I are so proud to announce we will be joining the Westminster Family. We are extremely excited and committed to building a successful volleyball program made up of student athletes that are driven by their faith, academics, and teamwork. We strive to inspire excellence on and off the court.”
