New Opelousas Elementary Principal Named

Dr. Mielke studied music in her bachelor’s program at Samford University in Birmingham. Years later she went on to earn her master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Regent University. She later earned her doctorate in Education Ministry from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.

Dr. Mielke’s professional experience includes serving on staff at Southern Seminary and Missouri Baptist University before developing teachers and students in the last seven years in PreK through 12th grade school administration.

Dr. Mielke has been married to Chuck for 16 years. WCA will be welcoming Dr. Chuck Mielke as the Upper School Bible school teacher and chaplain in the fall. Their precious family includes Jackson who will be going into 2nd grade, Jonathan going into K4, and Ruthie will be in K3.

“Our family is excited to be joining the Crusader family this summer, and humbled to be part of what God is doing at Westminster. I believe that the most important thing we can do is seek to capture a child's heart with the Gospel, and it's unspeakably rewarding when we can use high academic standards, fine arts, and athletics to do so. When Christ is central to everything we do, and we truly seek Him first, then all these things will be added! I am looking forward to providing support and encouraging teachers, praying with students, and coming alongside parents in their God-given responsibility to nurture and educate their children,” commented Dr. Mielke.

When asked about welcoming Dr. Mielke to Westminster, Head of School Mr. Scott Davis remarked, “The Lord has truly provided exactly what we need to step in for Mrs. Sonbuchner.  Dr. Mielke is a seasoned professional with a great educational background and a worldview that fits perfectly with our emphasis on Christian teaching and Biblical integration.  She will fit right in and will immediately add great insight to our WCA family.”
