Head Coach Tommy Badon, along with Coach John Vice and Coach Todd Thompson, has brought success to the Westminster Christian Academy Track and Field program. The 2007 team placed first place in the district track meet in both the girls’ and boys’ divisions, and the boys’ also placed first in the regional meet. Both the boys’ and girl’s relay teams performed very well and made it to the state meet, and Sara Milam went to state in the hurdles for her second year in a row. The boys’ field events won many points for the track team, as did the girls, with Savanah Allemond and Ryan McCombie making it to state in the javelin.
The 2008 season looks very promising for WCA Track and Field because very few people were lost from last year and the new people entering the season are strong athletes. This year WCA will be competing in an indoor meet at LSU of Baton Rouge for the first time in school history and the regular, outdoor season will begin shortly after.
